Dan Stephenson, Founder of the Rancon Group, "...It has become very clear to me that the proposed site for Liberty Quarry is not an appropriate location. I have not come to this conclusion lightly. After carefully weighing the information being brought forth, I realize that approval of the project would be a mistake and would seriously undermine this beautiful community that we have all fought so hard to preserve."
See the heights that one of our supporters scaled in order to show his support against the proposed Liberty Quarry!
William Patton, thank you for your amazing efforts and support!
We didn't let a little heatwave keep us down!

SOS-Hills Update The comments from the D.E.I.R. (Draft Environmental Impact Report) have been answered by a consulting firm and the results are in the hands of the County. The County will now decide if response to the comments are adequate. If so, the County will finalize the D.E.I.R. and send it to the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission will then set a date for a public hearing. This event will cause a "CALL TO ACTION"! There has been no date established yet, and the County has not yet decided if they are satisfied with the consultant's answers to the D.E.I.R. comments. A November date is a possibility and when a date is established we will keep you informed. After the Planning Commission Hearing, the recommendation from the Commissioners will be sent to the Riverside Board of Supervisors. At which point another public hearing will be scheduled. This will be our most important "CALL TO ACTION"!
City of Temecula Annexation Update On June 24,
2010, the City of Temecula went before L.A.F.C.O. (Local Agency
Formation Committee) for the third time.
This annexation proposal should take effect by September, however there is still some opposition to this annexation. So we must keep our fingers crossed. Again, we will keep you informed.
Our Inaugural Run for the Hills Event Thank you to our sponsors and to
all of those who came out to run, walk, cheer or volunteer. Thank you to Robbie Adkins for putting together this great video! Congratulations to all of our race winners!

Temecula Valley Unified School District asks the Riverside County
Board of Supervisors to consider the potential air quality impacts as indicated in the Draft Environmental Impact Report. "The DEIR states even with mitigation measures, air quality issues remain considerable and unavoidable. We are also concerned that ground level dust studies were not conducted on the fields or playgrounds of our schools downwind from the proposed quarry." Click here to read the full letter.

Want the real truth
about the proposed Liberty Quarry? Is Granite Construction really a good neighbor?
A Federal agency has launched a criminal investigation of Granite
for overcharging the City of San Diego for cleanup after the
October 2007 wildfires. ________________________________________ Other ways you can help include writing letters to local, state and federal legislators and the local newspapers. To view all their addresses, follow this link or click on the Get Involved button above. We are also asking people to consider making a donation to help us in the fight! We need money for legal review and comment on the 8000+ page Environmental Impact Report Granite paid for and produced, in addition to money for technical experts to evaluate the accuracy of data in that report, money for advertising, and other mailings. Every dollar we get goes to our fight against the quarry. SOS members are all volunteers and no one gets paid a penny. We have supporters that have committed thousands of dollars, and others only a few. "Dimes to dollars grow." Please help us in our "David vs. Goliath" battle! All of your contributions are tax deductible.
